Fundraising Success!

The November 10th, 2009 event, which raised $7,500 to date, featured two person teams racing to eat as many mini-burgers in 5 minutes as they could. The event was open to the first 25 teams who signed-up on the event website prior to the event and paid the $20 registration donation. Each team had their own cheering sections along with a few hundred other spectators that crowded into the outdoor patio, inside bar and dining room of the newest “The Greene Turtle”.

The eventual winners of the con-test were Shadee Yassin and Derek Macioce from team “Devour For Power”. The teammates are co-workers at Whiting Turner Contracting Company and together they ate 18 sliders in 5 minutes. Two more than any of the other 24 teams. They each received $100 cash for their victory. In addition to money raised through team registration fees, there were also raffle tickets.

In between the 5 heats, Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. raffled off prizes which included $100 cash, various gift cards which included a $500 gift card to Lowes, and the grand finale of a 42” HDTV. For a donation of $10, guests received a green wristband that gave them access to 99¢ Miller Lite drafts during the event.

Every penny of the generous donations will help cover Tommy's medical bills and bring some piece of mind to Tommy and his family. Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. also donated Tommy a new laptop for him to use for school.
